Responsible for administering the College’s employee benefits programs including: medical, dental, FSA, life insurance, dependent life insurance, 403(b), 457(b), and Alternate Retirement Plan
Responsible for processing of eligibility data with external providers
Responsible for entering deduction changes into the Banner system
Reviews and approves benefit transactions for new hires and qualifying events
Prepares and processes paperwork for terminated employees
Manages the relationship with a 3rd party COBRA administrator and smoothly transitions employees to external vendor
Administers and adjudicates claims for retiree death benefits
Calculates final payment to estate of deceased employees and communicates with beneficiaries on benefits, including life insurance
Administers dependent life insurance plan
Provides employees and participants with support on interpretation of program terms and conditions and resolution of issues
Assists with open enrollment and special projects
Develops topics, sources and secures facilitators, and develops communication plan for benefit related workshops
Responsible for content of biweekly benefit related articles on my Tri-C space
Assists with special projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum 3 years of benefits administration experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of benefit plans and legislative requirements
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees
The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Project management skills, ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, with effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy
Willingness to take initiative, prioritize and perform proactively
High degree of accountability, problem solving, logic aptitude, follow up skills and attention to detail
Strong customer service skills and quality orientation
Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Standard College hours of business 8:30AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
