Stark State College is seeking applicants for a full-time instructor to the Dental Hygiene (DHY) Program. Responsibilities include: prepare and deliver day and evening courses (classroom & clinic components)in the associate degree dental hygiene program; participate in departmental, committee, and college activities; curriculum development, evaluation and revision; professional development, marketing of the program, planning, student advising; assist department chair utilizing continuous improvement strategies to foster student success, seek and promote program growth and development opportunities; maintenance of legal, ethical, and effective day-to-day activities in concert with the standards of accreditation and college processes and priorities is critical.
This position may include day, evening, and weekend hours.
Bachelor’s degree in education, dental hygiene, or a relevant discipline with course work in educational methodology required and a commitment to enrolling in a master’s program. Master’s degree in same preferred.
Five years private practice experience is required. Applicant must demonstrate leadership/administrative experience preferably in an accredited allied dental program; didactic teaching experience in a dental program; knowledge of dental hygiene curriculum and accreditation standards.
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Ohio as a dental hygienist or dentist. Applicant must be current in CPR/BLS.
Master’s degree is preferred, however a bachelor’s degree is accepted as long as the applicant is committed to completing a master’s degree program.
