Detailed Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Quinnipiac University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Industrial/Organizational Psychology to begin Fall 2012.

Job Duties

Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced courses in I/O psychology as well as some combination of our required sequence courses (Introductory Psychology, Statistics, Experimental Methods, Non-Experimental Methods, History and Systems, Senior Seminar). Candidates are also expected to periodically contribute to the University Curriculum through teaching the QU Seminars.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include an earned PhD in I/O Psychology by August 2012. We seek candidates who can demonstrate the potential to achieve excellence in teaching and scholarly activities. We will be particularly interested in candidates whose area of specialization is in traditional "I" topics. Salary is highly competitive with other private four-year institutions.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Our energetic 15 member department serves upwards of 350 majors and is dedicated to providing students with an outstanding education in the science of psychology. Our department embraces a teacher-scholar model in that excellence in teaching and scholarship are expected of all faculty. Teaching load on the tenure track is generally three courses per semester. We currently have research space that is shared among members of the department. We are actively working on increasing and updating our research space.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching excellence (e.g., teaching evaluations, observations, portfolios, syllabi, projects), a clear description of an ongoing and future research program, representative research papers, and the names of three referees. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 20, 2011. Application materials should addressed to Dr. Carrie A. Bulger.
