Detailed Job Description

Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of University Registrar. This position will head the Office of the Registrar, which has general responsibility for the integrity and security of student academic data and the effectiveness and efficiency of the registration systems and processes in all of Quinnipiac’s schools and colleges, including the Schools of Law and Medicine. As Quinnipiac University moves towards an integrated approach to student services, the University Registrar will be a key collaborator and leader in the development, implementation and operation of a student services center comprised of the Offices of the Registrar, Bursar, and Financial Aid. This center will provide students and families, both in person and on the web, with one-stop” enrollment services ranging from processing financial aid and tuition payments to enrolling in classes and requesting a transcript. The University Registrar will report to the Executive Vice President/Provost.

  • Oversee the Office of the Registrar, including the hiring, training, professional development, supervision and evaluation of the Registrar's staff, as well as budget authority.
  • Work very closely with the Offices of the Bursar, and Financial Aid in the development, implementation and operation of an integrated student services center, including but not limited to the cross-training of staff in all three offices; the maintenance of content and documentation on a single portal page for the student services center; and the effective use of technology in facilitating excellent service to students and families.
  • Guarantee the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student academic records in adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee policies governing disclosure of information from student records.
  • Report student enrollment information as required by Federal and State law and accreditation standards.
  • Process transcripts, Academic Evaluation modifications, and approved grade change petitions.
  • Certify the enrollment status of athletes and veterans.
  • Set-up and coordinate effective and efficient course schedules, course registration processes, classroom assignments, and final exam scheduling.
  • Collaborate in the production of the Course Catalog.
  • Organize midterm and final grade recording and reporting.
  • Provide graduation clearance and degree verification.
  • Ensure that excellent service is provided to all constituents.

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five to seven years of leadership experience relevant to a registrar’s office within a higher education environment, or a combination of education and experience appropriate to fulfill this requirement.
  • Substantial experience working collaboratively on matters pertaining to student records within the context of an integrated student services or enrollment services center in a college or university.
  • Demonstrated excellence in providing service to students.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities along with the ability to think and problem-solve in a collaborative manner; ability to manage systemic change and to ensure effective business processes and excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple tasks; able to work respectfully and professionally with diverse populations. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the privacy rights of students, access to student information, and student records management and reporting (FERPA).
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I Compliance policies.
  • High-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.  Familiarity or working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and Microsoft SharePoint a plus.
