The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences of Quinnipiac University College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor of chemistry position in the field of analytical chemistry. The position is available in August, 2014.

Chemistry teaching experience in lecture and laboratory environments at the undergraduate level and expertise in the use of instructional technologies and in active-learning teaching methods is highly desired. Teaching responsibilities include analytical chemistry and instrumental methods of analysis lecture and laboratory courses and may also include other chemistry and/or science courses offered by the department. Development and pursuit of an active research agenda leading peer-reviewed publications in bioanalytical or environmental analysis is expected.
Candidates must have a commitment to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A doctoral degree in analytical chemistry is required at the time of appointment. Candidates must have the ability to establish an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications in bioanalytical or environmental analysis and be able to involve undergraduates in mentored research projects. Expertise in sample preparation methods and in the use and general maintenance of analytical instrumentation is required.
