Full-time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements:  BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success.  Faculty must be experienced in teaching in learning communities or willing to become proficient in learning community pedagogy and practice once hired, as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College.  Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College’s locations.  Ability to instruct online is a plus.  Further, applicants must have proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Position Description: Full-time Education/Early Childhood Education instructor in the Department of Education/Early Childhood Education/Human Services. Responsible for the teaching and curriculum development in all departmental areas of Early Childhood Development and Education with primary duties teaching early childhood development courses.

Specific Duties:

  • Student advisement from admissions through practicum completion as is needed to help students move through the  Education, Human Services, and/or Early Childhood Development Programs with success
  • Teaching and facilitation of pre-practicum experiences in Education Program, and/or Practicum experiences in the Early Childhood Development
  • Collaborative teaching activities with other faculty during co-teaching, pre-practicum and practicum experiences
  • Course and curriculum development and assessment activities to meet competency requirements for department’s ongoing student outcome assessment program, including data collection
  • Collaborative activity with Department involvement with public and private community based Early Childhood and Education organizations for joint ventures with Department and the College
  • Activity with grants management, workforce development and community education to service students in the areas covered by the Department
  • Participate in determining appropriate goals and objectives, developing instructional materials consistent with these objectives, and assist in developing and maintaining course standards
  • Evaluate student performance in the classroom
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students’ critical thinking skills and enhance understanding
  • Maintain expertise and currency in area of teaching responsibility
  • Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill duties stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Master’s degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed. or MAT in Education, Early Childhood, Psychology, or related field required.
  • Knowledge of field of Education and/or Early Childhood Development for broad based teaching responsibilities and assignments across disciplines, as needed.
  • Experience in care and educational settings with children 0-6 years of age required.
  • College-level teaching experience required; community college teaching is preferred

Salary Range: $44,000.00-$55,000.00. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Relocation Stipend May Be Available.
