School of Dentistry-Chairperson Department of Periodontics
West Virginia University School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level as Chairperson in the Department of Periodontics. Responsibilities include: oversight of all academic and clinical matters in the Department; development of a post-graduate program; didactic and clinical teaching in both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral programs; establishment and maintenance of a viable practice in periodontics; high quality research and/or scholarly activities and service to the University and School of Dentistry. Candidates must be eligible for a West Virginia dental license (information on licensure in WV can be found at http://www.wvdentalboard.org), possess a specialty degree/certificate in periodontics from an accredited North American specialty program, be a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and be proficient in dental implantology. Applicants with previous experience in didactic and clinical teaching, administration, and dental research are encouraged to apply. Candidate must demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills, and strong commitment to diversity and social justice. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
The Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health are part of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Campus located in Morgantown, West Virginia. Morgantown is 75 miles south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest.
