Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service seeks applicants for a post-doctoral fellowship in the Center for Environmental Sciences with expertise in environmental and geoscience related disciplines that will strengthen a new program in atmospheric chemistry. Candidates with demonstrated skills in remote sensing are especially encouraged to apply. For this position, a PhD in atmospheric science, chemistry or related field is required; specific experience in atmospheric remote sensing is desired. Faculty at Saint Louis University are currently members of two NASA Science Teams: The Air Quality Applications Science Team (AQAST) and the Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Air Pollution (TEMPO) satellite mission. The applicant is expected to work closely with these SLU faculty members in support of the research objectives of these Science Teams. The TEMPO Mission is scheduled for launch in 2019 and one of the functions of the applicant is to establish a satellite validation site that with be coordinated with air pollution measurements taken by Missouri's Department of Natural Resources with the intent of using these measurements to provide a better understanding of local, regional, national, and global air quality.
