Detailed Job Description

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean for the School of Business, performs and monitors a variety of administrative duties, including staff support and planning, requiring advanced or specialized knowledge and skills, i.e., monitoring budgets, preparing marketing information, preparing accreditation reports for both AACSB and ABA, managing a faculty database, and broad interaction with a diverse population. Maintains documentation for the various records in the School of Business. Coordinates and facilitates various departmental and school meetings, project functions, and/or special events. Assists in managing facilities for the School of Business. Monitors budgets and scheduling for the Legal Studies Department and responds to student inquiries. Oversees the hiring of student employees for the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s or an associate’s degree and two years of experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge

Must demonstrate administrative knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices and procedures in a legal office environment.
Must understand and use Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), and other software applications such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and Explorer.
Knowledge of statistics and experience with accreditation reports preferred.

Knowledge

Must demonstrate administrative knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices and procedures in a legal office environment.

Must be highly skilled in the use of a wide variety of office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, phones, etc.
Must demonstrate skill in preparing and at times analyzing reports, including graphs, charts, and tables.
Must possess superior administrative organizational skills, meet challenging deadlines, and resolve sensitive issues in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment.
Must effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to, at times, exercise independent judgment and decision-making with a population of very diverse backgrounds under minimal supervision.

Abilities

Must demonstrate the ability to multitask during the routine course of business.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
Previous experience planning events, meetings and projects is required.
Must be able to maintain calendars and schedules and track multiple divers projects simultaneously.
Must be able to prepare financial transactions and monitor budgets.
Ability to perform a variety of administrative support and confidential duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Pay Range

$25,665 - $32,082
