Detailed Job Description

The College Transition Program Assistant, working collaboratively with the Dual Enrollment Program Assistant and the Dual Enrollment/Malden High School Satellite Coordinator, is responsible for the following activities in the Division of Academic Support and College Pathway Programs:

Oversee summer bridge programs/boot camps, including student outreach/recruitment, registration, class scheduling, and peer mentoring component

  • Work with Academic Deans to recruit faculty for courses and instructors for boot camps
  • Work with Student Volunteerism Department to organize and implement peer mentoring component     
Oversee transition program during the academic year, including student outreach/recruitment, registration, scheduling online and in-class boot camps, and peer mentoring
  • Work with Academic Deans to recruit instructors for boot camps
  • Assist students in the transition to BHCC by helping with FAFSA, submitting their  BHCC application and registering for Start Smart orientation sessions
  • Bachelor’s degree and three years related experience
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • Experience working in both high school and community college setting preferred
