The Senior Director of Institutional Giving engages, qualifies, solicits, and stewards a unique, assigned portfolio of the institution's most significant donors and prospects in order to support the university's central priorities, complementing the efforts of development personnel focused on college and school priorities. The Senior Director will play a major role both in building strong giving relationships with key donor families, private foundations, and corporations as well as in attracting new prospective major donors to the institution. The Senior Director's primary areas of focus are the engagement of new, high-level prospects and supporting the management of existing donors' relationships at the institutional level with identified university level priorities. Under the direction of the Vice President of Development and Alumni, the Senior Director will work in close collaboration with colleagues within the Division, the President of the university and other executives, Deans and program leaders, and leading volunteers.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master degree in a directly related field, plus four years of experience related to the essential functions/duties of the position is preferred; or an bachelor’s degree, plus six years of experience related to the essential functions/duties of the position; or any combination of higher education and/or experience related to the essential functions/duties totaling ten years is acceptable.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of professional fundraising and/or donor stewardship work experience in a higher education setting or a combination of related education and experience totaling 11 years. Master’s degree is preferred. A valid Driver’s License is required.
