Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, service, and healthcare, invites applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow for its expanding programs at the College for Public Health and Social Justice. The College is the only accredited school of public health in a Jesuit, Catholic university in the U.S., and is committed to social justice, excellence in education, community engagement, and research that leads to improved health.
Primary responsibilities include conducting research, and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in biostatistics. This fellowship focuses on the development of research expertise within the context of geographic variation of health and behavior. The fellowship mentors the trainee to prepare and present work for peer review and dissemination, including conference abstracts, manuscripts, and proposal development. The trainee will also become proficient in teaching. The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in biostatistics, applied statistics, or a related field, with evidence of research productivity and teaching excellence (preferred). Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in spatial analysis and/or geographic information science. The successful candidate will find opportunities for collaboration in a productive school portfolio, including health disparity, community-based prevention, cancer epidemiology, global health, chronic diseases, and maternal and child health.
