FULL-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I: (Division of Human Resources) 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM). As necessary, on a periodic basis the individual appointed to this position may be required to work during early evening hours to accommodate the requirements of the work areas. AFSCME Unit Position. Anticipated Start Date: February 3, 2014
Organize new employee orientation workshops including: reserving rooms, processing registrations, copying and collating packets for workshops. Update webpages as needed. Process CORI & SORI requests. Coordinate COMECC campaign. Assist in planning & coordination of annual Employee Recognition and holiday celebrations. Responsible for AFSCME: on-boarding, FMLA and GIC processes. Enter and or edit information via Human Resources information databases. Maintain accurate system data, review problem data, check for discrepancies and make corrections as necessary. File/scan materials such as correspondence, reports, applications, etc. Answer telephone calls and provide routine information concerning department services. Process forms, routine correspondence; schedule conferences, meetings, appointments. Act as back-up for other staff in Human Resources. Reports to the Director of HR.
Applicants must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management. Strong knowledge and understanding of the use of database systems required. Must have excellent word processing skills. Must be able to work accurately with names, numbers, codes and/or symbols and have strong attention to detail. Must be team orientated. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.
Salary: $724.81 - $1,018.57 per week ($37,690.12 - $52,965.64 annually) with full fringe benefit package. An appointment from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step 1 of the range. (Step 1: $724.81)
