Assist director of biotechnology research in training biotechnology interns in the practice of culturing human cell lines; maintain cell culture research laboratory; participate in research projects; assist in supervising the laboratory; assist in maintaining the laboratory; organize and maintain stocks of consumable and non-consumable items; purchase and prepare materials, instruments, chemicals, or solutions for various courses to which the manager is assigned. Organize and maintain a stock of consumable and non-consumable materials for each of the courses to which the manager is assigned. Assist lab instructors as requested. Assist in teaching laboratory sections for assigned courses and requested by instructors. Oversee hourly laboratory assistants. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors or by the department chair.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in an area of expertise commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge

Knowledge in culturing mammalian tissue culture cell lines. Knowledge of molecular biology techniques.

Knowledge

Knowledge in culturing mammalian tissue culture cell lines. Knowledge of molecular biology techniques.

Skills

Experience with independent research in mammalian cell culture. Experience working in a laboratory.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Abilities

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to interact personally with students and faculty in a congenial and productive manner.

Pay Range

$34,656 to $46,207
