Required: Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in mathematics education or related field. Research and teaching interests in mathematics education. Substantial successful mathematics teaching experience in secondary schools. Knowledge of current research, pedagogy, and assessments in mathematics education and the ability to model those for teachers. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and secondary-school teachers. Commitment to working with diverse student populations.
Desirable: Experience supervising or mentoring teachers,teaching credential or graduate-level courses, presenting at professional conferences, and conducting professional development. Experience in the use of educational technology. Experience teaching in culturally and/or linguistically diverse secondary schools.

At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States.

Teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and community: Develop and teach credential and masters-level courses in mathematics education; supervise student teachers/interns; support the implementation of the state-required teacher performance assessment for credential candidates; make scholarly contributions to the field; serve on committees at various levels within the university and the university system; and participate in professional development activities, projects, or research at the university or local schools.
