The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a one-year visiting position as an assistant professor of sociology or anthropology. There is a possibility that the position will be renewed after the first year. The primary teaching responsibilities of this position are courses on race and ethnicity in the United States, as well our introductory sociology or anthropology course. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach courses in at least two of the following areas: social statistics, ethnographic methods, inequality, urban studies, masculinities, education, and medicine. Areas of research and specialization are open. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester. A Ph.D. in sociology or anthropology, and teaching experience, are highly desirable.
