Detailed Job Description

Full-time, 180-day contract position.  Will prepare and deliver high quality day, evening, weekend, satellite, and/or online courses in mathematics.  Traditional and online course development and facilitation; academic advising; research and development of potential certificate and program offerings; participation on division and college committees; professional development opportunities; marketing of programs; articulation with other colleges; and other duties as assigned by the department.  Participate in departmental meetings; mentor faculty, and support quality improvement in the department, division and college.

Required Education:

Master’s degree in mathematics.

Required Experience:

Previous experience in college level teaching is required.  Must possess a strong developmental background and be able to develop and implement innovative approaches to pedagogy, including instruction of developmental and college level courses.  Requires ability to use technology that includes MyMathLab, ANGEL (or other LMS), MS Office programs, and internet delivered materials.  Knowledge of how to facilitate a highly effective learning environment is essential as is instruction and enhancement of web-mediated courses.  Ability to function effectively and productively in team-based initiatives is critical.  Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to work effectively with a diverse student population.

Preferred Experience:

Community college teaching experience preferred.
