WHEATON COLLEGE (IL) – Human Needs and Global Resources Program
Visiting Assistant Professor of Human Needs and Global Resources: two-year full-time appointment with possible renewal. Begin duties 1 July 2014.
Job requirements: Ph.D. Discipline not specified, but training, teaching, scholarship and experience should include substantial engagement in an international development-related field. Teaching up to 3 courses (8-10 credits) per semester, plus administrative duties. Must be willing and able to travel to multiple international regions at local living conditions to visit students and to develop partner organization relationships (approximately 2-3 weeks/year). Candidates must be available for essential responsibilities that occur in summer months (June-August) while students are in field internships, field-based courses are underway, and faculty visits occur. Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to the core values of the Human Needs and Global Resources Program, including interdisciplinarity, collaboration, justice, and transformational development. An ideal candidate will have at least two years of sustained, residential international experience with development in the Majority World.
