Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the School of Economics and Business Administration, beginning in fall 2014. (An earlier appointment may be possible.) We are seeking candidates who possess, or demonstrate strong potential for, research and teaching expertise in the area of business ethics and society in both U.S. and global contexts.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach six courses per academic year, which may include courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to teaching in the business ethics and society field, teaching may also include courses in college wide programs such as Collegiate Seminar and January Term. Teaching assignments in undergraduate courses are conducted at the main campus in Moraga. Teaching assignments in graduate courses are conducted at the main campus in Moraga, as well as at locations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and San Ramon. All Saint Mary's faculty are expected to advise students and to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated, and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian, and liberal arts traditions. The successful candidate also will also be expected to provide at least three office hours per week during the term.
The candidate must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field before commencing her or his appointment. The successful candidate will join a collegial community that values and supports cutting-edge research and scholarly contributions. Consequently, the candidate must demonstrate the ability or potential to conduct and publish high quality research in respected academic journals on topics related to business ethics, personal or organizational ethical development, corporate social responsibility, or business and social justice. Candidates whose teaching or research interests include global business and/or environmental sustainability are highly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will also provide evidence of her or his ability to teach, advise, and mentor a culturally and educationally diverse student body and will demonstrate appreciation and deep respect for the learning/teaching environment and for the students, staff, and faculty who comprise it. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the willingness to become a stakeholder in the Lasallian commitment to that environment and a commitment to working in a diverse and multicultural community.
