Detailed Job Description

Direct the creation of video content through all stages of video production including original concept, script writing, directing, lighting, recording, editing, authoring and delivery. This includes live multi-camera events, as well as film style shoots. Manage 5- 40 crew members and talent. Work within and be accountable for project budgets ranging from $500 - $100,000. Know how to use current video production equipment and techniques.
Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
30% Design, plan and direct production of television programs with project budgets from $500 to over $50,000.-Direct live and live to tape multi-camera events.
40% Independently edit video to meet pacing, visual, time and deadline requirements, using specialized editing computers running on Windows and Mac software, specifically Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Soundtrack Pro and Color. Design 2D and or 3D graphics/elements to be used in video productions using Adobe After Effects
10% Manage personnel, locations, talent and budgets for assigned productions.
20% Operate complex video equipment including VTRs, broadcast cameras, CCUs, video switchers, video. Routers, waveform monitors, audio mixing consoles, microphones, compressors, lighting consoles and camera support equipment.  

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor degree from an accredited university in film, communications and two years of experience directly related to video/film, broadcast field or a related area; OR associates degree and four years of experience directly related to video/film, broadcast field or a related area OR a high school diploma and eight years of experience directly related to video/ film.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of the artistic elements of camera composition, framing, graphics, and their relation to music and sound.
Knowledge and know how to "finish" a professional video project with a clear vision throughout the production.
Knowledge of 2D Design and animation proficiency in Adobe After Effects
Knowledge and understanding of audio and video input and output connections.
Ability to manage video production operations including all of the control room systems and production equipment (non-linear editors, video switchers, routers, audio and lighting systems).
Knowledge of Macintosh OSX and Windows 7 operating system.
Knowledge of Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, After Effects, Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of digital photography, and video television cameras.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
