Essential Duties: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in introductory algebra-based and calculus-based Physics courses plus laboratories. These courses include topics in mechanics, heat, waves, sounds, electricity and magnetism, light, optics, and related laboratories. Instructors prepare lessons, teach in the classroom and labs, advise students, and provide individual help in office hours.
Required Education: Applicants must have a Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or closely-related field.
Required Experience: Applicants must have college-level teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and community service.
Priority will be given to candidates with a degree in Physics or Engineering, and strong skills and experience in teaching. In that context, preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in teaching a diverse population of students, developing undergraduate Physics and Engineering courses, and using computers and advanced technology to enhance the educational experience of students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ABET accreditation and to candidates qualified to teach introductory courses in engineering.
