Saint Louis University is a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service. The Vice President for Human Resources provides strategic leadership in the planning and implementation of quality-based, mission-focused human resources programs for all faculty and staff. As the key HR leader for the campus, the Vice President continually improves human resources systems and ensures the delivery of high quality services to the faculty and staff of the University in a manner consistent with the vision, mission and values of the University. The Vice President for Human Resources is a member of the President's Executive Staff and President's Coordinating Council, and reports administratively through the office of the Vice President for Business and Finance.
The Human Resources division provides services through several main departments: HR Consulting and Client Services, HR Services, Benefits, Learning and Development, HR Information Systems, and Payroll. Human Resources partners with the President, vice presidents, deans, chairpersons, directors, staff and faculty in achieving the mission and goals of the University, and their respective organizations.
Applicants must be committed to successfully planning, implementing, and overseeing administration of integrated recruitment, employment, retention, compensation, benefits, employee relations, HRIS, and learning and development programs. Experience should also include management exposure in academic, operating and health care environments. The individual must demonstrate an appreciation of the Jesuit tradition in higher education. She/he must have demonstrated a commitment to staff diversity. Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 15 years of experience is required.
