To help meet that mission, the University seeks an experienced, collaborative, strategic and analytical prospect management professional to develop and implement a framework of sophisticated prospect management and research within our organization. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and development officers to ensure that prospects are identified, research is conducted, appropriate and intentional steps are taken to increase the value of their portfolios, and that prospect relationships are managed in a thoughtful and strategic manner.
This position is critical to the success of preparing for and contributing to a comprehensive campaign, by providing leadership and guidance in the creation and application of prospect management methodologies and best practices. This position will develop and implement policies and procedures for prospect pipeline development, monitoring and management, and will be responsible for coordinating prospect strategy sessions with all development officers, including the Vice President of University Advancement. This position is responsible for the research and qualification, implementation of analytics, including metrics, data mining, modeling, and creating and oversight of reporting strategies as they pertain to prospect management efforts. This position will also train and support the front line fundraisers on moves management policies, procedures, productivity and actions along with driving the fundraisers to reach compliance and performance expectations. As and when appropriate, this position will also be required to hire, train and supervise future prospect research staff to assist in the growth of a robust prospect pool.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years prospect management and research experience.
Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and self-motivation as well as ability to identify and solve problems.
Strong familiarity with software applications and tools relevant to the prospect research profession. Experience using the full suite of Ellucian products specifically Banner Advancement and other related research technologies, such as WealthEngine or iModules, strongly preferred.
Experience in and ability to create and put into place a robust moves management system, while exercising a firm grasp of best practices in moves management, prospect research, fund raising and relationship management.
Extremely strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and interpret high volumes of information effectively for senior management purposes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer service orientation and ability to function well individually and as part of a team.
