The Director of Counseling and Psychological Services will supervise, manage, and oversee all operational aspects for the delivery of mental health services to students.
1.) General administration of the Center including oversight of services provided, supervising and evaluating staff and management of the budget; 2.) Coordination of the training program including provision of supervision to supervisors, the postdoctoral fellow and trainees (MFT and PsyD); 3.) Overseeing and providing outreach services to the entire university community; 4.) Providing consultation services to other student service professionals, faculty and staff regarding psychological matters and services; 5.) Providing clinical services (individual, couple and group psychotherapy) and crisis assessment and intervention; and 6.) Responsibility for providing after hours on-call services for crises and psychological emergencies.
The candidate will have a doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology preferably from an APA accredited program, completed an APA, APPIC or CAPIC accredited predoctoral internship and be a licensed as a Psychologist in California (preferably for at least three years). In addition, this candidate needs to have clinical, supervisory and administrative experience (preferably within a university counseling center) and demonstrated commitment to being sensitive to, knowledgeable about and aware of diversity and multicultural issues within a university community.
