ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with designing, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all student-athletes. Work collaboratively with coaches, sports medicine staff, kinesiology faculty, and other campus entities to ensure the use of the latest technologies and testing methodologies, providing our student athletes with the best strength and conditioning resources possible. Work collaboratively with coaches and sports medicine staff to effectively communicate injury prevention and rehabilitation. Assist the Head Coach with working collaboratively with Graduate Kinesiology to continue the development and implementation of an internship program, by recruiting potential graduate student interns, developing curriculum to ensure that they meet their academic requirements, and mentor them in all areas of Strength and Conditioning. Assist the Head Coach with the management and supervision of the Power Plant serving 300 varsity athletes, 200 club sport athletes, regular students, faculty, and staff including equipment maintenance, inventory control, facility supervisors, and risk management.
Experience and Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree, Masters degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or another health science area. Certification in NSCA, CSCCa, NASM, ACSM, or USAW preferred. Collegiate or professional level experience, 2-3 years minimum.
