Duties & Responsibilities

The Director of the EDGE Program will report directly to the Vice President for Student Services. The Director will supervise the program staff and oversee the recruitment of students into the program and the development of those students according to program guidelines. The Director will develop and deploy advertising, orientation, assessment, and participant requirements. She or he will be responsible for program evaluation, federal reporting and monitoring. The Director will serve as the program liaison with campus departments, public schools, and community groups. The Director will be responsible for developing, promoting, and operating this program in adherence to all federal, state, and College rules and regulations.


A Master’s Degree in educational, counseling, public administration, sociology, social work, or a related field is required. Required is demonstrated teaching and/or counseling experience with a demonstrated sensitivity of the needs of disadvantaged students and the ability to communicate with diverse student populations, staff, and the community. Supervisory work in a pre-college educational setting is preferred as is a minimum of three years administrative experience in a college setting designing, managing, and implementing a student support service or similar project. Strong student personnel abilities, organizational skills, budget and staff management and a commitment to quality management principles are desirable.
