Duties & Responsibilities

The Accounting Supervisor – Restricted Funds reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for fiscal monitoring, reporting and management of College grants and contracts. The Accounting Supervisor will be required to prepare invoices and financial reports; request funds electronically; analyze and review budgets and expenditures for federal, state and private grants and contracts; review and approve transactions in accordance with restricted fund requirements; assist with audit requests; prepare the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards for the Annual Financial Report. provide instructions to restricted fund monitors relating to policies and procedures established by the Business Office or College Administration related to restricted funds; remain current on regulations that affect restricted fund accounting, reporting, and compliance, and assist in applicable procedures to keep the College in compliance; provide direct support to management as necessary; and perform other duties as assigned. Individual will supervise and evaluate the work of one accounting technician III in aiding with the fiscal monitoring of grant and contracts.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field and 4 years of related experience required; experience in a public government setting highly desirable. Candidate must have knowledge of governmental financial accounting principles and practices; computer literate with skills in spreadsheet and word processing applications and familiarity with mainframe accounting systems. Individual must possess the ability to perform research and interpretation of accounting literature; establish work priorities and meet deadlines; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment; and adapt to changing environments. Individual must posses the ability to have successful working relationships with associates, have good organizational skills and be able to communicate proficiently in written and oral form.

Starting Salary

$40,000 - $45,000
