Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Vice President for University Relations, the Program Director for Community Relations and Special Projects will be responsible for directing and maintaining the UVU Talent Bureau; directing and maintaining community engagement efforts with local business, community and political leaders and neighbors of the University, including managing the President's Community Advisory Council; direct special projects as assigned, including, but not limited to managing the University's anniversary celebration endeavors and maintaining the University's history book (print and online); and serve as a member of the Vice President for University Relations Executive Team.  

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of professional experience OR a master's degree and four years of professional experience directly related to community relations, marketing, or communications; OR ten years of work experience related directly to essential functions.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience working with local community groups and individuals towards a common objective.
Experience writing and producing public documents, interviewing people, and giving public presentations.
Experience in cultivating community support, public participation, and managing volunteers.
Knowledge of and experience in event and project management.
Knowledge of the history of UVU and its service area communities is helpful but not required.
Ability to work as a team member within a large organization with diverse constituencies and rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.
