Description of Duties:
As Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you are responsible for assisting with the development, coordination, support and implementation of targeted initiatives for HR and your assigned departments. You will also be responsible for handling labor relations matters for Bentley's two unions.

The successful incumbent will demonstrate solid understanding of the operations of the client units as well as the needs and challenges of managers and staff. He/She will Build strong relationships and develop credibility with divisional leaders, managers and staff members throughout assigned units so that employees at all levels of assigned units feel comfortable seeking advice and following recommended courses of action.
As adviser you will support managers and staff members on employee relations matters, facilitating fair and equitable problem solving and decision making. You will also provide guidance to managers and supervisors in the use and application of HR tools and processes relating to offers, salary ranges, salary adjustments, job evaluations, classification of new positions, changes of status, transfers, promotions, performance appraisals, and terminations.
You will support managers on organizational design and development, policy interpretation, training and development strategies, diversity initiatives, employment law, and employee morale and engagement to ensure that units act in compliance with applicable laws and policies, minimize liabilities, and act in a fair and equitable manner consistent with Bentley's standards.
Labor Relations responsibilities include:
As Sr. HR Business Partner you will assist with day to day contract administration involving collective bargaining agreements with Bentley's Facilities Management and University Police unions. Advise management on contract interpretation, discipline, grievances, workers' comp and disability management, health and safety and applicable HR policies and procedures. Conduct investigations as required, summarize and recommend to Executive Director course of action on grievances. Assist in the preparation of materials for negotiations and development of negotiation strategies. Attend grievance and arbitration hearings and assist in case preparation.
Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 years of professional experience in a multi-discipline Human Resources environment; Master's degree in a related field preferred. Previous experience working with labor unions. Higher education experience strongly preferred. Must possess advanced communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills. Sensitivity to employment and employee relations needs and the ability to balance both.
