In this role, our Registered Nurse provides medical services to our student population within the scope of practice as a Registered Nurse
-Provide primary care for students for illness, injuries and/or health concerns
-Promote health maintenance and wellness through health screenings and counseling
-Triage patient’s medical needs
-Schedule appointments and/or referrals
-Assist third party vendor Medical Providers with procedures
-Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for laboratory pick up
-Perform EKG’s, breathing treatments, suture removal etc.
-Prescribe and administer Emergency Contraceptionn Pills following medical protocol
-Prescribe and dispense over-the-counter medications; administer TB testing, flu shots and other vaccines
-Prepare and maintain confidential medical records
-Prepare and file Confidential Morbidity
Reports with Los Angeles Public Health Department
-Assist students with insurance issues
-Assist with CAL OSHA oversight
Bachelor Degree in Registered Nursing from an accredited institution; BSN required
3-5 years of general medicine; experience in women’s health (GYNE) and working knowledge of college health needs
Master’s in Nursing preferred.
