About the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine:
The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University admitted its inaugural class of medical students in August 2013. The school was founded with the aim of educating diverse, patient-centered physicians who are partners and leaders in an inter-professional primary care workforce. In the near future our primary care mission will expand to include rehabilitative medicine and global public health. Our innovative integrated curriculum focuses on student-centered, active and engaged instructional excellence.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise and teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: preventive medicine, public health, health psychology, patient and physician behaviors, social and cultural issues in healthcare, health policy, and health economics. Successful candidates must be able to teach broadly across our integrated curriculum. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with clinical experience.
Specific job duties will include curriculum development with other faculty, lecturing and small group facilitation, student advising, mentoring medical student capstone projects, and collaboration with basic scientists, physicians, and nursing and health professionals. Service to the medical school and university community is required.
Successful candidates must have an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, excellent teaching. Candidates should demonstrate a relevant research and publication record, service to students and the academic community, and a commitment to inter-professional collaboration.
Ideal applicants will possess a PhD, ScD, MD, DO, DPH or equivalent terminal degree in a behavioral or social science field relevant to medical education. Persons with a Masters level degree may be considered for appointment at the Assistant Professor level if they have at least 10 years of applicable teaching experience. For consideration for appointment at the ranks of associate professor or professor, previous experience teaching medical students is required.
Screening of applications will begin October 2013 and will continue until the position is filled. Screening interviews may be arranged at the American Association of Medical Colleges annual meeting in Philadelphia.
Full-time faculty positions at the Netter School of Medicine are non-tenure, 12-month positions.
