The Department of Applied Business Sciences and Economics in the College of Business and Public Management at the University of La Verne is seeking a candidate to fill a tenure track position in finance beginning with the 2013/2014 academic year. Rank is open. We are looking for a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research in the field of investment. Other specialty areas will also be considered.

The University of La Verne is an independent, private institution of higher education with a strong emphasis on excellence in teaching both traditional-aged and adult students, and a growing emphasis on research and publication. The College of Business and Public Management serves approximately 4300 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels in various programs such as Business, Health Administration, Leadership and Management, and Public Administration. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to join the growing, committed faculty and to play a key role in planning the future direction and growth of the College.

Specific Duties

The work load is split into 60/30/10 with teaching representing 60% of the work load, research and scholarly activities for 30%, and community service and community engagement for 10%. Faculty is expected to teach six courses per year at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in finance or a related field from an institution accredited by AACSB. Candidates with professional experience in related fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates with an expected completion date of June 2014 are encouraged to apply.
