FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION: ENGLISH: Department of English (Division of Foundational Studies and Liberal Arts & Sciences). (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated Start Date: January, 2014. Contingent on funding.
Teach Composition courses primarily, also occasional Literature and Creative Writing courses; participate in curriculum and on-line course development; participate in college service including grants development, program review and assessment, student extracurricular activities and committee work; academically advise students; maintain office hours. Teaching assignments may require travel to the Haverhill and Lawrence campuses. Other related responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean.
Master’s degree in English (or equivalent) required. Must have taken significant coursework in Composition/Rhetoric and/or the teaching of writing at the college level. Must have at least two years of college composition teaching experience with a demonstrated sensitivity for teaching to academically disadvantaged students and evidence of excellent teaching. Ability to teach within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and the ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies required.
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
