Detailed Job Description

A PhD in Sociology with a specialization in Criminology, or a PhD in Criminology is required.  The area of specialization is open, but preference may be given to candidates who have a critical approach to inequality.  We are especially interested in candidates with strong research credentials, including a track record or considerable promise in securing external funding and with a strong commitment to student and faculty diversity.

Candidates will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate programs by teaching Criminology courses and/or core courses in the major (two per semester), and mentoring graduate (MA and PhD) students.  Applicants should send a letter of interest, either hard copy or electronically, that includes a description of their training research agenda and teaching experience, a curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for three references to:
