The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences seeks candidates to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Political Science. This is a full-time tenure track, nine-month teaching position.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Political Science who have demonstrated experience of effective teaching and research in political science. Commitment to the mission of an 1890 land-grant HBCU, research, and publication is highly desirable.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching and advising majors interested in attending graduate and professional schools. Candidate must be able to direct senior undergraduate research projects. Proficiency in teaching in the following areas is expected: Empirical Political Theory (research methods and statistics), Public Administration, State and Local Government, Seminar in Political Theory and Introductory American Government.
