The Economics Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor appointment in Economics to begin July 2014. This person would become part of a department of seven full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students.
We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates in research, and who have a demonstrated awareness of the importance of diversity in education. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a background in Development Economics and /or study of a developing economy. We also will consider outstanding candidates in Trade, Industrial Organization, and Public Choice. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent by July 2014).
Responsibilities include: a 3-3 course teaching lead, scholarship and professional activity and service to the college and community. Faculty development support, including a course release in the first three years, is available. Primary duties include teaching in their respective research field, principles (micro and macro), and economic statistics. The ability to teach in at least one other elective area is desirable. Dedicated research space and start-up funds for research are available. Candidates will be interviewed at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia.
