Houghton College seeks a full-time, tenure-track, faculty appointment for Biochemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the assistant or associate level starting in the Fall semester of 2014.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach and lead curriculum development in Biochemistry and also teach a combination of introductory and upper-level lecture and laboratory courses in their area of chemical expertise. Collaborative research with undergraduates is expected. Start-up funds for research are available.
Requirements: A PhD in chemistry or engineering is required. Academic rank will be determined based on experience. Candidates with interests in bio-medical or bio-molecular engineering or bio-physical chemistry will be given preference. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, strong communication skills, and an ability to mentor students are important qualities for this position.
