The University of La Verne welcomes applicants for the position of Intern Unified Communications Engineer in the Network and Unified Communications (NUC) department in the Facility & Technology (FTS) Division. The Intern Unified Communications Engineer will plan, design, deploy and administer new and existing backend technologies for the University’s enterprise network and Cisco VoIP communication technologies. The Cisco Intern Unified Communications Engineer should work to gain experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity. The candidate will provide solutions for Unified Communications, IP-based contact centers, unified messaging, video solutions, and data solutions optimized for the University.
Maintain the University’s voice over IP infrastructure, which includes the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unity voicemail system, and other related equipment. Provide on-going support for move, add, and change (MAC) activities for end point network and voice devices (switches, access points, VoIP phones, wireless phones, and fax machines). Conduct tests, measurements, and compile data for network and voice operation and performance statistics.
2 year associate degree in Computer Information Systems or related field of study,
Cisco Certified Network Associate level certification or equivalent experience
Working to obtain the CCNP Voice certification
