The Department of Psychology invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track faculty position in Clinical/Counseling Psychology to begin Fall 2014.
Teach 4 courses (12 hours) per semester. The teaching load will consist of such undergraduate courses as clinical/counseling psychology, abnormal psychology, theories of personality, positive psychology, introductory psychology, statistics and research methodology courses, and other courses as needed. Other responsibilities include engaging in scholarly activities related to psychology; advising students; performing Departmental, University, and professional service; engaging with the First Year Success program; participating in course and program development; performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Doctorate in Psychology completed no later than June 1, 2014.
Doctorate in Psychology. Teaching experience in undergraduate psychology courses such as clinical/counseling psychology, abnormal psychology, theories of personality, positive psychology, introductory psychology, statistics and research methodology courses. Associated professional experience with recent published research in refereed psychology-related journals. Ability to involve students in research. Demonstrated experience successfully teaching, mentoring, and advising diverse underserved students, including students of color and non-traditional students. Familiarity with first-year experience initiatives. Teaching experience with non-traditional students and ability to use appropriate educational technology.
