The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Director of its planned Masters of Public Health (MPH) program. The school seeks an individual with the academic and administrative leadership skills to develop, implement, and administer the program.
The MPH program will reside within the School of Medicine’s Institute for Global Public Health, and report to the Institute’s leadership. The Institute for Global Public Health brings together many of the public health and international initiatives within Quinnipiac University, such as the Global Public Heath undergraduate minor, the Global Public and Community Health concentration within the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, and the Albert Schweitzer Institute that conducts US and international programs linking education, ethics and voluntarism.
The Director, in collaboration with the University’s other health professions schools, will be responsible for recruiting faculty and staff, overseeing the development of the curriculum, developing the organizational structure and directing the process leading to CEPH accreditation of the program.
An advanced degree (e.g., M.D., Ph.D.) is required, preferably in one of the core disciplines of biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health services administration, or social and behavioral sciences, along with at least five years of teaching experience within an MPH program, and knowledge of the CEPH accreditation standards and process. The successful candidate will have a proven record of effective leadership, a solid record of scholarship, and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
