Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH is seeking an organized, creative and enthusiastic supporter of undergraduate liberal arts education in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition to oversee The Saint Anselm Fund in a collaborative environment. The Saint Anselm Fund raises more than $3 million annually. The director provides strategic oversight, support and solicitation for The Saint Anselm Fund. The director manages programs including; reunion giving, senior class giving, phonathon, alumni participation, young alumni giving, parent giving, affinity giving and volunteer recruitment and management. The director oversees social media and website initiatives related to annual giving. The director serves as the liaison to Saint Anselm athletics fundraising. The director is responsible for creating and implementing a direct mail and e-mail solicitation program in support of The Saint Anselm Fund with concentration on securing President’s Society ($1,000+) level gifts. The director of annual giving maintains a strict personal visit goal that results in a minimum of 110 visits and $250,000 raised annually. In addition, the director will manage 3 gift officers and an administrative assistant.
Reporting to the managing director of development, the director works closely and collaboratively with the assistant vice president for alumni relations, assistant vice president for individual gifts, athletics department and academic departments. The director must create and implement a plan to identify, cultivate and solicit the acquisition of new donors and retention and upgrade of existing donors.
Bachelor's degree required along with three to four years of relevant fundraising experience, management/administrative experience and project management experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Excellent writing, communication and customer relations skills required; ability to ask for contributions is essential. Must possess a broad base of general knowledge and skills in fundraising, with related experience in annual giving programs desirable, including volunteer recruitment and management and experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge. Some budget management experience desirable along with experience using standard business software. Must be able to deal effectively with and represent the college to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside of the college. The successful candidate will be an energetic, effective communicator, speaker and manager with exceptional strategic, analytical, leadership, creative and interpersonal skills.
