ResponsibilitiesDaily operational oversight of operational and administrative functions of the Graduate Kinesiology program. Develop processes and procedures to streamline operational/administrative functions to ensure smooth program delivery and student/faculty/College satisfaction. The current graduate program has a range of students annually of 35-45.
Administration: develop and manage all operational/administrative functions including the program budget (under guidance of the Director); analyze/resolve administrative issues that come up in daily operations; publish/maintain website and social media sites; continuously review/update program processess and procedures; manage the Hobson's enrollment management system.
Student Services: resolve all student issues; regularly review/update processes related to finacial aid, admissions, scholarships/tuition remission (s), registration, grades, billing; develop sustainable policies and procedures to simplify resolution of student issues; audit student files and keep faculty and students current on all academic issues/ progress; design and participate in student orientations; develop/publish annual new student handbook; place students with writing tutors as required; assist with all graduation issues
Management and Supervision: hire, train, supervise and develop administrative staff and student workers; set timelines/priorities to meet program goals.
Marketing/Recruitment/Admissions: with Director develop and implement marketing strategies and timelines; oversee all admissions and recruiting efforts, including lead management and events such as open houses, conferences, education fairs; development of website material for recruiting; audit applicant files and asist Director with student admissions; with Director develop admissions policies; conduct and report marketing analysis. Manage creation of media plans, contracts, and payments. Negotiate and implement contracts and payments. Initiate social media marketing plan.
Faculty services - manage faculty contract process, orient and manage identified prospective faculty through hiring process; design and deliver new faculty training for Moodle, department policies, and best practices; solve issues faculty face to ensure smooth delivery of curriculum and develop policy and procedures for on-going resolution; with Business Office manage lecturer contracts/salary payments.
Event Planning/Management: plan and manage all program events including scholarship dinners, alumni events; oreintations; open houses; various student/faculty events throughout the year.
Other Duties As Assigned: Assist with Commencement planning and delivery, attend all Hobson's meetings, represent Graduate Kinesiology at SOLA Graduate & Professional Studies Marketing meetings (GPS-SIG); attend other College meetings as required
With Program Director, design/manage fund raising plan and manage the Alumni Outreach plan.
Experience and Qualifications:Required: M.A.
Experience:Prefers expertise in online education, higher education administration, and program development.
Skills/Abilities: Prefers excellent communication and relationship skills, as well as oustanding written, organization, and public speaking skiills. In addition, a high level ability to pay attention to detail, with development and follow-through of projects and initiatives to strategically set and meet the goals of the program, in concert with the Program Director.
Well developed capacity to work independently while effectively fostering collaboration. Must have proficiency with online course management systems, such as Moodle, as well as other computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and lead management systems.
Prior knowledge and experience with the Hobson's enrollment management system preferred. Experience using multiple social media platforms for program advertising and communications is also preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be available for travel and weekend or evening work on occasion.
