Reporting to the Director of Development, Individual Giving, the full-time exempt Assistant Director, Individual Giving manages and builds a portfolio of 200 + prospects capable of making gifts in the $1,863 to $25,000 range.  Setting annual goals, the Assistant Director participates in all aspects of the gift cycle, including initiating contact, developing and executing cultivation, solicitation, closure and stewardship strategies for each donor in the portfolio in an appropriate and timely fashion. The Asst. Director will maintain an average of 20 personal visits per month, requiring a significant number of discovery calls each week. In addition to closing annual leadership gifts from an identified portfolio of alumni and friends, the Asst. Director will be responsible for reaching out to parents of current undergraduates for philanthropic support. 

The Assistant Director works in coordination with campus partners, volunteers and other Development Officers to create a pipeline through the stages of annual and major gift moves management. This includes the possible staffing of volunteer committees, management of student interns and prospect screening efforts.  The Asst. Director promotes the College’s fundraising priorities through developing excellent relationships with their colleagues, volunteers and campus partners when needed.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated, and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian, and Liberal Arts traditions

Bachelor’s degree required, along 2-5 years of increasingly successful experience in development efforts, including fundraising in higher education, non-profit, or similar setting. Phone discovery and personal solicitation experience is highly desirable. Shows demonstrated success and effectiveness in annual giving prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, closing, and stewarding of these gifts ($1,863+)Demonstrated proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and experience with donor information databases.


This highly-driven, self-directed, and goal oriented individual must have experience motivating development volunteers and exhibiting sensitivity to the needs of the donors, prospects, and campus partners. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community of faculty, staff, alumni, and donors and work collaboratively and strategically with campus leadership and development staff.   The high-energy candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills; the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously while working calmly under the pressure of deadlines; personal initiative and achievement against goals; exceptional verbal and written communications skills, engaging interpersonal skills, and a great sense of humor.
