Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service offers a position at the Post-Doctoral level in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology in the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. The Department has active research programs in molecular virology, viral pathogenesis, vectors, anti-viral drug therapy, biodefense, autoimmunity (TRegs), immunotherapy, cytokine function, osteoimmunology, and vaccine development

The position is offered in the lab of Dr. John Tavis, which is focused on the molecular virology of Hepatitis B and C viruses, especially on the enzymology of HBV reverse transcription. The ideal applicant will have a PhD or MD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related areas, and will have experience in recombinant protein production and enzymatic analyses. Experience with cell culture models of viral replication will be an advantage.
