The Student Success Mentor will design, implement, coordinate and manage plans and strategies for students in the health professions that will align with the college's strategic initiatives to ensure student success. The Student Success Mentor/Coordinator must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a theoretical knowledge of teaching and learning in higher education related to didactic and theoretical concepts, and college laboratory and externship/clinical experience. The Student Success Mentor/Coordinator will assist department directors, chairs, and coordinators in identifying "at risk" students, advising and mentoring students, implementing peer study groups, and designing and implementing study skills workshops.
Master's Degree required.
Five years full-time Higher Education teaching experience required.
Two years clinical experience.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work with individuals one-on-one or in small or large groups.
Understanding of issues regarding student attrition and retention.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Evidence of problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
Master's degree in Education preferred.
