The successful candidate should have a PhD in History or a closely related field; advanced ABDs will be considered. The successful candidate should be prepared to offer introductory surveys in U.S. and World History and advanced classes in Historical Methods, Early Republic, Civil War and Reconstruction, and Gilded Age and Progressive Era. Additional field in public history is desirable. Teaching load is four courses per semester; teaching experience, active research agenda and a commitment to serving USI and the community required.
