FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN ART FOUNDATIONS: (Department of Technology, Arts, and Professional Studies) Haverhill Campus (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated Start Date: Jan. 2014. Position contingent on available funding.
Teach foundational courses in the Art Department; participate in course development and other departmental activities including curating and hanging of exhibitions and organizing programs for visiting artist; mentor undergraduate students; participate in program review and assessment, student extracurricular activities and committee work; academically advise students; maintain office hours; and participate in college service activities.
Master of Fine Arts degree and college teaching experience required. (Teaching Assistant with own class accepted) Ability to teach foundations courses such as Color Theory, 2D Foundations, Drawing and Painting. Applicants are expected to bring expertise, technique, professionalism, and creative exploration into their classrooms and must be able to demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and flexibility. Interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies are expected. Demonstrated ability to teach within, and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment required.
Prior teaching at the community college level preferred.
Prior teaching experience in 3D Foundations preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
