FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION / MATHEMATICS: (Department of Mathematics, Division of Foundational Studies and Liberal Arts & Sciences) (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated Start Date: January 2014. Position contingent on available funding.
A successful candidate should be able to teach mathematics at all levels, including: Quantitative Reasoning, Mathematical Ideas, Statistics, College Algebra & Trigonometry through Calculus III sequences, and Differential Equations. Other responsibilities include advising students, maintaining office hours, participating in college service and contributing to the enhancement of the curriculum including the development of online/hybrid courses.
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Mathematics or related field and college level teaching experience required. Candidate must demonstrate ability to teach within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment; demonstrated sensitivity to and high expectations of academically disadvantaged students required; knowledge of pedagogy of mathematics learning required. The applicant must possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate his/her ability and willingness to be involved in curriculum design and professional development in the area of mathematics instruction. The applicant should be experienced with the use of technology in the classroom and have experience with multiple forms of course deliveries.
Community College teaching experience, experience writing grants and curriculum development. Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish and English).

Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
