Detailed Job Description

PART-TIME COLLEGE SUCCESS SEMINAR INSTRUCTORS: Haverhill High School, (Division of Liberal Arts Foundational Studies & Liberal Arts and Sciences) (DCE MCCC/MTA Unit Position) August 27, 2013 – June, 2014.

Teach the NECC College Success Seminar (CSS101) as part of an integrated learning community with American Literature and American History, to one or two cohorts of Haverhill High School sophomores weekday mornings for the academic year. The CSS101 component of each learning community meets for 90 minutes every other day over approximately 40 weeks at the high school. The teaching schedule follows the Haverhill High School vacation schedule. Attend training meetings (stipend will be provided).

Courses will meet for full year –

Cohort 1: Will meet on Tuesday/Thursday 8:20 a.m. - 10:01 a.m. from August 27, 2013 to January 9, 2014 and then on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 10:01 a.m. from January 13, 2014 to June 11, 2014. 

Cohort 2: Will meet on Tuesday/Thursday from 10:36 a.m. - 12:17 p.m. from August 27, 2013 to January 9, 2014 and then on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 10:36 a.m. to 12:17 p.m. from January 13, 2014 to June 11, 2014.

Master’s degree in Education or related with prior experience teaching at the college level. Flexibility and willingness to work with high school instructors to design integrated assignments and lesson plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school teaching experience and experience teaching in learning communities or team-teaching.
