Parker University is seeking an Admission Recruiter. 

JOB OBJECTIVES:                   To encourage and attract qualified prospective students to inquire about and subsequently apply for admission to Parker University.  Aggressively solicit students via telephone and e-mail. To provide a positive, professional impression for guests, students and staff, while conveying a sense of customer service, both proactive and reactive. To assist all visitors and prospective students who come into contact with the Admissions or Financial Aid Department.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:       Bachelor’s degree in a marketing or related field and one year of strong sales , tele-marketing, or recruitment experience; or one to three  years’ experience as an admissions professional in a college, university, or proprietary educational institution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:    Ability to stand or sit up to eight (8) hours per day and lift twelve (12) pounds.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:          Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; Ability to travel independently and with others, especially during peak season; Knowledge of CCE pre-professional requirements and knowledge of existing standards, rules and regulations with regard to entrance into the University; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to clearly articulate the University’s programs and requirements and the ability to clearly disseminate information that will lead prospective students to apply and matriculate through the process; Good organizational and record management skills; Pleasant and positive telephone etiquette; Ability to effectively interact with others via phone and e-mail; Strong interpersonal skills   including patience and a consistent friendly, enthusiastic, and cooperative attitude; Computer literate; Self-starter with the ability to multi-task. ; Ability to forecast and meet deadlines; Must maintain departmental and institutional confidentiality; Team player that works well under pressure with the ability to foster University relation values; Proven customer service skills; Ability to use relevant University tools to maximize sales effectiveness.




Job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and attend various local career fairs. Travel to other states for fairs, presentations and seminars as necessary.
  • Effectively negotiate contracts and associated fees necessary to attend career fairs, recruiting events, and seminars, as necessary
  • Participate in the creation and development of various University marketing and promotional materials.
  • Effectively ensure sufficient marketing materials are available when needed; determine quantity of materials needed for each event and ensure sufficient amount of materials are present at each event.
  • Effectively identify and aggressively pursue prospective students; continue to pursue those who have not applied or through file completion.
  • Develop and conduct presentations with prospective students. Revise presentations as necessary to maximize effectiveness.
  • Make outgoing calls to prospective students and follow up accordingly.
  • Develop a rapport with assigned students and maintain contact throughout the enrollment process.
  • Provide counseling to applicants regarding the admissions process and college regulations.
  • Effectively ensure follow up after passing leads to appropriate support staff with complete student information, including dates of interest.
  • Effectively communicate with the evaluators focusing on working each student's file and consult with them on any questions regarding the acceptance of a particular course, student admission protocol, procedure, or regulation.
  • Independently manage tour guide program: Recruit and schedule student tour guides; hold meetings at the beginning of each trimester; recruit and schedule attendees; book hotel rooms for prospective students as needed; coordinate with counselors and financial aid to ensure that everyone is assisted in a timely manner; conduct tours in the absence of student tour guide.
  • Assist with Open House as needed, including, but not limited to, scheduling events, setting up, etc.
  • Provide and maintain viable data integrity for the admissions database, entering information according to guidelines.
  • Provide daily call reports and statistical information as requested by supervisors.
  • Attend all assemblies, staff meetings, training sessions, or other assigned events unless otherwise instructed.
  • Assist the Dean of Enrollment, Admissions Systems Analyst and Financial Aid with any projects, tasks, or duties deemed necessary.
